Please save the date for Auckland Pride’s 2026 Annual General Meeting, renew your membership and consider applying to join our Board.

Time and location to be confirmed. This meeting is hybrid and people are welcome to join online.

At this year’s AGM, members will:

• elect four Board members
• consider motions submitted by members
• hear about Auckland Pride’s progress and new strategic plan
• share kai and connect with the Auckland Pride team and each other

Apply to join the Board

Applications are now open for four elected Board positions.

Joining the Board is an opportunity to help guide Auckland Pride through its next chapter, working alongside our members, Te Rōpū Māori and kaimahi to support Takatāpui and Rainbow Communities to lead and influence an equitable Aotearoa through transformational storytelling.

We welcome applications from people who connect with Auckland Pride’s purpose and can contribute their skills, perspectives and time to its governance. We are particularly seeking people with governance experience and welcome applications from those who have developed this through formal, community or kaupapa-based settings. We encourage applications that reflect the diversity of our communities.

Applications close at 11.59pm on 28 September 2026.

Applicants will be asked to provide a short statement for members. Eligible applicants will then stand for election at the AGM.

Renew your membership

Only current members can vote in Board elections or on motions.

Please check or renew your membership by 11.59pm on 23 September 2026 at membership.aucklandpride.org.nz.

Voting will take place at the AGM. If you cannot attend, you may appoint another member attending the AGM to vote on your behalf by proxy. Further information about proxy voting will follow.

What is a General Motion?

In accordance with our Constitution, general motions allow financial members to formally submit proposals or key items of business to be debated and voted on by the membership at the AGM. Under Rules 10.1(d) and 10.7(b), members can raise motions in advance so they can be published and considered by the full membership.

Note: While members may also raise general business motions directly from the floor during the AGM under Rule 10.7(c), proxy voting cannot apply to floor motions, and floor motions cannot alter the rules of the Society.

Submission Deadline & Details

If you wish to submit a general motion for this year's AGM, please send it directly to me at secretary@aucklandpride.org.nz by 11:59 pm on 21 September 2026.

When submitting a motion, please ensure you include:

• The exact wording of the proposed motion.
• A brief written explanation outlining the reasons for the proposal.

Once received, all valid motions will be compiled and advertised to the full membership at least 10 working days prior to the AGM as required by our Constitution (Rule 10.1(c)).
